Very good vintage. Deepish colour, tawny/russet with brick-red core. Oddly sweet, molasses-like aroma, a bit to vegetal for me. A little animal, too. Soft, easygoing, rounded, smooth palate with soft, fine tannins. Modest finish - a tad short. More mature than expected, and possibly near the end of its drinking window.

Deep brown in color, the 1987 Hill of Grace displays evolved fruit on the nose amid leather and dusty earth notes with some game and sandalwood hints plus a whiff of dried herbs. There is a lot going on the palate, with plenty of savory and meaty flavors to fill the mouth. It is structured by a medium-firm level of chewy tannins and bright acid before finishing long, with a pleasant herbal lift. It is mature.
