More serious than the 2001, with better integration of wood as well as greater flavor breadth and intensity is the 2002 Shiraz Frux Frugis. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a big, peppery, black currant-scented bouquet. While some sweet oak is present, there is more fruit and richness in this impressive, full-bodied 2002. Long in the mouth, with no hard edges, it should be consumed over the next 5-7 years.
