Rockford Wines are made by icon winemaker Robert O'Callaghan. The wines are made from 60 to 140 year old vines from low-yielding, dry-land vineyards sourced from the Barossa region.

In the 1980s O'Callaghan became a champion for old vine shiraz at a time when many of the vines were being pulled up. He has inspired other great old vine shiraz winemakers including David Powell of Torbreck and his assistant winemaker Chris Ringland of Three Rivers (now Chris Ringland) fame.

Master of Wine Andrew Caillard of Langton's describes the Rockford Basket Press Shiraz as the "quintessential hand-made wine." Traditional practices, such as the use of the basket press,open fermenters, French and American oak and ripe tannins, are designed to bring out the power, richness and colour of the wonderfully flavourful old vine shiraz grapes.

These uniquely individual wines are made in very small quantities and are highly sought after.
