Dianne and David Kassebaum are both 3rd generation winegrowers and live on their vineyard in Marananga. David has been working in the wine industry for over 20 years in a technical role.

The Kassebaum Vineyard is located on Nitschke Road in the heart of Marananga, Barossa Valley South Australia and rubs shoulders with such names as Torbreck and Greenock Creek.
The property is a little over 30 acres of which 17 acres are planted to vines. The Magdalena vineyard is just over 6 acres, the rest of the plantings are contracted to Fosters for use in their super premium wines (achieving an "A" grade rating for 5 out of the past 6 years).

The vineyard was planted in 2000 and the first growing season was very hot and dry with above average temperatures and below average rainfall. No irrigation was used in this period therefore the vineyard is very strong. All vines are planted on their own roots and are all 1654 clone. Soils are red/brown earths over clay, making them ideal for moisture retention and strong root growth.

All vines are hand pruned in the traditional rod and spur method.
The wine produced is a full bodied traditional Barossa Shiraz with rich ripe fruit flavours which can be consumed now or will improve with age over the next 8 to 10 years.
