Since its inception in 1979, Peter Lehmann Wines has emerged as one of Australia's most respected, energetic and innovative winemakers. Peter Lehmann founded the winery at a time when the Barossa region was facing financial ruin from over-production. His belief in the potential of the Barossa as a premier wine growing region and the quality of the old vineyards paid dividends. Today Peter Lehmann is a member of the prestigious Hess Group of Wineries. The wines have earned many medals and trophies along with great accolades from wine judges in Australia and throughout the world.

Peter Lehmann's Stonewell Shiraz is considered  the jewel in crown of the Peter Lehmann range. Made from dry-grown low yielding blocks from vines that are in some cases over 100 years old,  Stonewell Shiraz is a muscular wine - impenetrable black in colour with a powerful palate of dark chocolate, prunes, liquorice and hints of mint. Fermentation in mainly new French (and a small portion of American) oak hogsheads, and extended time on skins post fermentation adds greater tannin structure which is integrated seamlessly to create a wine of great stature and longevity.  Source: Peter Lehmann Wines
