Wendouree was established in 1893 by Alfred Percy Birks towards the northern end of the Clare Valley in South Australia. It is one of the oldest operational wineries in Australia. Thanks to the custodianship and talents of Tony and Lita Brady, who bought the winery in 1974, the 1914 stone winery, some if its original equipment and much of the original vineyard are still operational. Shiraz, Malbec, Mourvedre and Cabernet Sauvignon are harvested from dry-grown, low-yielding vines that are more than 100 years old.

These difficult-to-find wines are coveted by collectors and investors alike, generally commanding high prices on the secondary market because of their limited availability and enviable reputation.
