Bar-Coded Inspection Sticker & Bottle Condition

All bottles are inspected upon receipt and certified with a bar-coded inspection sticker. Unless otherwise noted, bottles have good labels, capsules and fill levels. There may be minor cosmetic imperfections from normal shipping, cellaring, handling or age.

Wine collectors list their precious bottles for sale directly from our custom-built storage facility. All bottles are kept in optimal conditions of 14 degrees and 70% relative humidity until you buy them.

• Sometimes a vendor just wants a quick sale and is more aggressive than the other vendors
• Bottles with torn labels or low ullage levels are generally discounted vs. bottles without defects

There are lots of reasons but, in our experience, it's mainly because they have too much wine! Or their palate changes from enjoying big rich Aussie reds to a more elegant Bordeaux style. Or, they get older and their children aren't interested in inheriting the wine (it happens!).

'My Cellar' is a handy tool that automatically keeps track of your wine purchases. You can use this free software anytime and also add bottles from your own cellar to maintain an online inventory of your wine. Learn more about Cellarit's free wine cellar software.

Transit Insurance & Returns

Transit insurance is included with delivery at no extra charge. It covers breakage, non-delivery, theft and other perils but not heat damage (we recommend leaving your wine in storage during hot weather). Cellarit sells wine "as-is" on consignment, similar to an auction. Although we make every effort to note significant external defects we can't guarantee what's inside the bottle. Unlike traditional retailers, Cellarit can't return bottles to a wholesaler so we're unable to provide returns or refunds to buyers.

GST Info & Tax Rebates When Wine Is Taken Out of Australia

Your Cellarit tax invoice allows business buyers or those leaving Australia with their wine to receive a tax credit and/or a full tax rebate under the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) available to visitors and Australians alike. Please note that your tax invoice is emailed to you and not packed with your wine.

Seller's Commissions range from 12.5% down to 10.75%, lower than what you normally pay at wine auctions. Even better, it's so easy! We'll collect and transport it from anywhere in Australia and we'll even pay the transport for any amount above the first 5 dozen. Transit insurance is extra at 1% of value and normal wine storage fees apply. You'll receive a notification email / receipt report and then your can list your wine for sale.
