Label says "A voluptuous 2005 Pinot Noir" and "16% Alc/Vol". Voluptuous Pinot Noir? 16%? Certainly unusual, probably unique. I think I'm coining a new phrase when I say this is a Pinot Noir for Port drinkers. Doesn't have a big nose, but smells a bit cherried, jammy, and gamey. Hits the mouth in a similar way to Port. Tastes a bit like Christmas pudding but with more than a hint of strawberries and cherry, and less sweetness. I could knock back a glass of this on a cold winters night alongside some hearty food and not feel too hard done by. Certainly memorable. From central Victoria.
