I tried this wine numerous times in its youth a was non plussed. What a difference seven years has made. It has all the dark, dusty earthy flavours I remember but has added a lovely sweet cassis backbone which adds real balance. Tannins are silky smooth yet mouth coating. This is one of the few premium Mclaren Vale Cabernets that can justify its price. Very good and has plenty of legs.
