Krug Grande Cuvee is one of the crown jewels in the LVMH wine division, placed alongside the Moet & Chandons Cuvee Dom Perignon and Veuve Cliquot'sLa Grande Dame.

Krug produces only premium blends. The wines are made from carefully selected chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier grapes sourced from Krug's own vineyards or from long-term contract growers in the Champagne villages of Ay, Le Mesnil and Trepail. Krug ferments each cru (parcel of wine from each vineyard) in small, well-seasoned oak barrels, a practice that is no longer common in Champagne. The Grande Cuvee NV is blended from anywhere between 20 and 30 crus across Champagne, almost all of which are Grand Cru (ie. from the designated very best vineyards). The vintage Champagne spends a minimum of seven years on lees to impart extra flavour and body.
