Huon Hooke
Chaffy wet-straw, earthy and asparagus hints: some suggstion of DMS. Soft, lighter bodied, sweet fruit but not distinguished. Tapers off to a lean, short, rather astringent finish.

The pure, clean, lush 2000 Shiraz RWT’s aromas of black fruits, tar, and creosote are followed by a full-bodied, accessible Shiraz with a long finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

Medium to deep brick colored, the 2000 RWT Shiraz showed slightly oxidized and tired with leathery notes mixed in with rotten vegetables. It is also fading in the mouth. Either a bad bottle or this wine is gone.

94 Points James Halliday
Strong, deep purple-red; the bouquet offers a mix of blackberry (dominant), dark plum, chocolate, spice and cassis, all of which make their presence felt on the velvety palate. Ample but ripe tannins and controlled French oak round off an altogether superior wine. Drink to 2016.
