Huon Hooke
Medium to full red-brick. Meaty, savoury aromas, toasty and earthy, rather drying palate with ample tannins, but not the fruit flavour to balance. Tough finish.

87 Points James Halliday
Medium red-purple; the bouquet is quite scented, with sweet cassis/currant/blackberry fruit. The palate opens with abundant dark berry fruit, but then moves through to all pervasive tannins which need to settle and soften, and there has to be a question about the long-term balance of the wine. Drink to 2014.
