Huon Hooke
Deep, dark red colour with a trace of purple. Lovely ripe blackberry and blackcurrant aromas; primary fruit really shows out here. The wine is very full-bodied and firmly structured, with slightly astringent tannins. The acidity is not excessive, but the tannins are quite pointed. Still a long way to go.

Deep colour; it spent 15 months in a mix of old and new French and American oak barriques, giving rise to a fragrant and expressive bouquet of black fruits, spice and cedar nuances. The palate really sings with dark berry fruit, oak and tannins the supporting orchestra. Right up there with the best Black Labels. Drink to 2024.
