Huon Hooke
Very deep red-purple colour, still amazingly youthful and seems to be aging very slowly. Edgy ironstone metallic aromas, a concentrated and fully-ripe cabernet bouquet - with no herbal or greener traces. Very full-bodied. A monumental wine. It still needs more time to be at its best.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Alex 88 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon presents well-defined cassis, blackberry and plum notes with underlying oak, violet and dark chocolate hints plus a whiff of green peppercorns. Medium-bodied and taut with a solid core of blackberry and savory flavors supported by firm, grainy tannins, crisp acid and finishing long. Drink it from 2015 to 2024.

The grapes often form part of John Riddoch. The colour is a strong crimson-purple; the bouquet exudes blackcurrant fruit and Coonawarra earthy notes, picked up and amplified on the distinguished medium to full-bodied palate, where French oak and powerful tannins add a further dimension. This wine demands 5 years, and will live for decades. Its tannins are prominent right now. Drink to 2040.
