93 Points Robert Parker

Medium garnet-brick in color, the 1998 Yeringberg is a little musty to begin but eventually gives way to a good core of ripe, evolving, black fruits, sandalwood, earth, leather and game. Medium to full-bodied with a rich, concentrated palate, it is framed by medium-firm grainy tannins through the long finish. Drink it now.

93 Points James Halliday

Medium red-purple; the bouquet is moderately intense, clean, with gently ripe blackberry/blackcurrant fruit and a hint of spice. In typical fashion, there is far greater depth and richness to the fruit on the palate, flooded with sumptuous flavours of cassis, blackberry and blackcurrant. Every bit as good as the '97. Drink to 2013.
