"The 1990 Moss Wood cabernet includes 5 percent cabernet franc and the merest smidge of merlot. During the winemaking process a portion of the wine spent a couple of weeks on skins.
Powerful wine. Indeed this was tasted as a 12 year old and it seemed too young and purple/powerful still. Lashings of toasty/smoky oak, lashings of blackcurrant, a bright cherry (almost medicinal) character and lots of dusty, spicy, leafy cabernet indicators. This bottle didn’t quite have the length you might expect and/or hope for, but boy it had a lot going for it."
