Huon Hooke
Deep red-purple. Smoky regional Hunter aroma, stalky, graphitey, deep and serious, while the palate is elegant and medium-full bodied with a spike of acidity jutting out slightly which makes it slightly hard. Green peppercorns. Needs age.

94 Points James Halliday
From a single dry-grown, 41-year-old vineyard owned by the McGeoch family. Vivid, clear crimson colour introduces a medium-bodied wine with fragrant berry fruits on the bouquet plus a punch of earth, and an elegant palate shaped by the savoury tannins that run through its length. Born and bred to stay. Drink to 2034.
