Very deep purple. All purple, no red. Massive nose or staggeringly rich, concentrated, ripe fruit and oak perfectly harmonised. Not vanillan and certainly not coconutty. Very powerful, elegant, deep, and concentrated, but no suggestion of overripeness or jubey fruit. It's a serious, elegant, finely-structured wine of classical shape and proportions. Tremendous length. Will turn into a great wine.

Excellent crimson-purple; has a fragrant plum and cherry bouquet, then an intense and very long palate moving into a savoury black fruit spectrum; exemplary tannin and French oak management underpins the line and balance of a wine destined to outlive many who taste it. Drink to 2040.

With the elegance, acid backbone and energy of the 2009 Hunter season on full display, this is one Graveyard that you should leave undisturbed for many years yet. Excellent fine-boned poise and stature, wonderfully fine-grained tannin texture, exotically lifted floral complexity, tremendous line and length, unashamedly restrained. Drink 2019 - 2029.
