94 Points James Halliday
Good colour; a personal blast from the past in the early 1970s, the vineyard directly opposite Brokenwood; a very well-made wine from the low-yielding vineyard; it is in the modern Hunter style, and many will walk past, or rather drink it soon, without realising this shiraz will flower further with a few decades in bottle, so well-balanced are the plum and blackberry fruit, tannins and vanillan oak contributions. Drink to 2031.
