93 Points James Halliday
It took the cataclysmic 2009 vintage for Mount Mary to declassify its flagship Quintet for the first time. Discounted by $100, it's a good buy. If there's any influence of bushfire here, it's the faintest wisp of smoke. A triumph for a warm, dry vintage, and an enjoyable, if earlier drinking Quintet. Top notes of dried flowers and violets open into pure blackcurrants, juicy cassis, tobacco leaf and cigar box. Drink to 2017.
