Huon Hooke
Fragrant floral, herbal aromas, a hint of Campari (from stems); great harmony and elegance. Svelte texture; bewitchingly graceful

Lusher and riper than the 2013, the 2015 Murrumbateman Syrah delivers less pepper and spice but more mulberry and blackberry fruit. This medium to full-bodied wine is supple, verging on creamy textured, then adds a dash of peppery spice on the lingering finish.

From the early ripening top half of the estate TandL Block, 100% whole berries, wild-fermented, 1 month on skins, matured for 22 months in French puncheons. Full crimson-purple hue; this has everything a medium-bodied shiraz grown in the right climate should have under the baton of a master winemaker. Black cherry is the dominant flavour, but is flanked on either side by red cherry and blackberry. The palate is silky and supple on the journey until the end, when decorous tannins and French oak add their voices. Drink to 2040.
