97 Points Robert Parker
The 2005 Shiraz “Distinction” was sourced from 53-year-old vines and was aged in French oak for 24 months. It has an enticing perfume of pencil lead, scorched earth, smoke, blueberry, and blackberry. On the palate it is tightly wound but oozing with fruit. It demands a decade of cellaring and should drink well through 2035. Congratulation to young Mr. Tscharke for an impressive collection of wines!
