Still not fully mature, but very impressive, is the super-concentrated 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Classic notes of creme de cassis, tobacco leaf, licorice, and earth are followed by a full-bodied wine stuffed with rich fruit, glycerin, and sweet, velvety tannins. Approachable now, and beginning to develop some secondary nuances, it is capable of lasting another 10-15 years.

Dense red-purple; the bouquet is concentrated and rich, with cassis, berry and chocolate fruit and soft oak. The palate is similarly rich and concentrated, with powerful cassis fruit, some almost chewy chocolate flavours, and strongly structured tannins on a lingering finish. Gold medal winner at the 1997 Adelaide Wine Show Drink to 2015.
