Good colour; has structure and focus with red and blackberry fruit (no dead fruit); good spice and length, exemplary oak and tannins. A raucous return to top form. Drink to 2018.

94 Points Robert Parker
The inky/blue/purple-tinged 2003 Shiraz Mount Edelstone, aged 18 months in a combination of American and French oak (80% new), is even more sumptuous and voluptuous than the Cyril Henschke. Notions of blackberries, cassis, pepper, graphite, and melted road tar emerge from this rich, full-bodied, impeccably well-balanced Shiraz. It can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15+ years.
