Huon Hooke
Sweet ripe blackberry blueberry nose; superb. Great flavour and concentration, deep and long, profound wine. Very intense and lushly fruited. Supple, gentle tannins; softer than usual. Lovely wine. Now to 20 years.

91 Points Robert Parker
The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (53%) – Shiraz (47%) “Bin 389”was aged for 14 months in large oak vats. It is opaque purple-colored with an attractive bouquet of smoked meats, Asian spices, black currants, blueberry, and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, it has gobs of spicy dark fruit flavors, a smooth texture, well-hidden tannins, and 3-5 years of aging potential. Drink this lengthy blend through 2020.

94 Points James Halliday
Built in the fashion of Bin 389s of yesteryear; massive beams of fruit and oak to keep it going for decades; black fruits (no red) earth and a touch of licorice; tannins under control. Not a wine show style. Drink to 2024.
