Winery Region:Barossa Ranges
Wine Name:Jacob's Creek Steingarten
Why is there more than one price?
Jacob’s Creek Steingarten Riesling, named after this iconic vineyard, is made from a small number of select cool-climate Riesling vineyards in the higher altitude Barossa Ranges. This wine has set a benchmark for Australian Riesling and is part of our most premium range.
Less than two and a half kilometres from Jacob’s Creek sits the Steingarten Vineyard. It is situated on a steep east-facing rocky outcrop on the western edge of the Barossa ranges. The wine shows intense citrus floral aromas and flavours, dry mineral acidity, outstanding mid-palate structure and great length.
An ideal accompaniment to fresh seafood and light salads the citrus notes in the wine will also be brought out whenever using lemon.
Jacob's Creek Website
"Very dry, almost severe. A piercing wine. Fennel, lemon, slate, a slight pause of flavour before the finish and then a rousing crescendo as it leaves the mouth. Outstanding wine."
