This probably one of the best representations of Carignan I have seen, and a great way to get to know Jacques’ style. These are some of Jacques’ oldest vines, 90+ years. The fruit is plush and ripe, dark plums and blackberries. Then there is spice and earth in the middle somewhere, followed by lots of tannin that is so chalk soft it feels smooth. And the finish is long, fresh, neat, cooling. A big and spicy wine, full of deep and wild fruits.
