Impenetrable core to a deep and dense purple rim. Blueberry compote, mocha and cedar shavings on the nose. Rich and dark fruits layer with Christmas cake spices and a dusty earth note on the tongue. The weight maintains its dignity and remains focused to the end. A lot of wine at this price

Predominanty western and northern Barossa; 20–60+yo vines; matured 14 months in new and seasoned oak hogsheads. Sweet, spicy, fleshy and characterful. Deep in colour and filled with all the usual suspects of Barossa black fruits, licorice and milk and dark chocolate. A short finish gives way to bright acidity and grainy tannins. Drink to 2024.
