Huon Hooke
Deep purple/red colour and a fresh aroma of banana, dark plum, and a clove spice background. The spiciness became more and more obvious and appealing. It's lean and slightly bitter at first on the palate, with youthful vitality and intensity, brightness and freshness, but also a disturbing bitterness on the middle and back palate. Coming back to the wine later: no bitterness, so it doesn't concern me. A very good shiraz, with structure; worth keeping a few years although it also drinks well young.
