Watery lemon-yellow colour, a stone fruit and allspice bouquet. Savoury and fruit forward, white peach, persimmon and saline notes tightly wrapped in a hint of toastiness. Lean and powerful, a modest body with long persistence.

For the 2019 vintage there seems to be a big jump in new barrels (45%) and Austrlian oak, an odd choice for chardonnay. If used to build more depth into the wine, it hasn't worked. There's a tussle going on here, as this wine is led by acidity, fruit barely making a statement. It's tight and lean and the oak tannins just make this more drying. Drink to 2027.
