Deep red with a tint of purple; plum pudding and almond-meal aromas, the wine is medium bodied at best and the tannins are very soft and supple, the length modest. There are hints of tar and graphite, a savouriness rather than fruitiness. Neatly side-steps varietal character: not even a glimpse of cabernet shows, just nice red-wine character.
