Impenetrable blackish purple colour promises great concentration. Powerful aromas are reminiscent of blackberries, plum jam, black olive, clove and vanilla. Full-bodied, dense fruit is at the core, and there's also a good measure of charry oak in the mix. It's a big mouth-coating, long-flavoured wine with a great wall of tannins behind it all. A tour de force, this is a particular style that might not kick goals with wine's new-wave fans, but it's bound to satisfy lots of others.
