Huon Hooke
Medium-depth red-purple colour, a very good hue and bright, if not especially deep. The bouquet is all about cedar, blueberry, mulberry, dried herbs and hints of smoked charcuterie. The wine is intense and elegant on the palate with elevated acidity and great vitality. The finish is incredibly long and fills right out: a wine of great extension considering its not a blockbuster but is medium-full bodied. Line and length are the great strengths of the wine. It should richly reward time in the cellar, too. This is one of the greatest of this line that I've tasted. (76% cabernet sauvignon, 12% shiraz, 8% merlot, 4% petit verdot)
