Huon Hooke
Very deep, dark, brooding colour that stains the glass, and has a tinge of black in it. The bouquet seems to go hand in hand with the appearance: a wine of depth and concentration. Raisiny fruitcake, chocolate, vanilla and panforte aromas. The wine is very full in the mouth and loaded with drying, chewy, mouth-coating tannins. It's a big, ripe wine, which would reward cellaring. It offers a lot of oomph and is a typical warmer-year wine.

Sourced from adjacent rows of 40yo vines using archetypal cabernet vinification. Hand-pruned to control the yield to 5t/ha; cold maceration and pressed directly to oak for 18 months in French hogsheads. This is a seriously good cabernet that has taken full advantage of an excellent vintage courtesy of skilled vinification by winemaker Ben Wurst. Its length is exceptional, as is its structure and slinky tannins, part fruit, part oak. Drink 2025 - 2045.
