An extremely pretty red pinot fruit nose that offers notes of anise, clove, smoke and underbrush precede delicious if not nearly as concentrated middle weight flavors that are essentially built on a base of minerality and finesse. This is a lovely effort fashioned in an understated and pure style though it's clear that this does not possess the same quality of underlying material as the best in the range. Drink to 2013+.
