My, my, what a wine with its depth and structure as much as its beauty and ethereal qualities. While there are the usual dark cherries and heady aromas of baking spices, there’s very much a savoury edge to this. Fuller bodied with an abundance of richness and stately raw-silk tannins. This is complex, superbly balanced and built to last a long time. But gee, it's compelling now. Drink 2024 - 2037.

Full ruby with purple tints and the bouquet is earthy/broken rock, ferrous/iron-like qualities with a touch of oak adding a smoky, fivespice aroma note and aftertaste. The wine is deep and mouth-filling, showing good concentration and drive, muscle and grip, and an enduring aftertaste. A big, dramatic finish: a peacock's tail. Beautiful aromatics: a serious pinot noir indeed. 08 Jul 2023 Drink 2024 - 2036.
