Huon Hooke
Mid-yellow colour, the bouquet is strong on mealy, creamy yeast lees, buttery bread-crust and stone-fruit aromas and flavours including a trace of parmesan. The palate is soft and round, ample and creamy, the finish is clean and dry. It's a generous, concentrated and layered style of chardonnay.

So the premium chardonnay has its mojo back. Excellent news. Tightly focused with pristine fruit of sliced lemon, white peach, powdered ginger, sea spray and umami/nougatine lees, creamy, too, with the oak superbly integrated. Complex, detailed and flavoursome with chalky acidity that corrals all those flavours in obedience finishing long and pure. What a wine. Drink 2023 - 2035.
