Deepish red colour with a hint of purple in the rim and a complex, earthy, stony-mineral nose, a hint of smoked-meats, savoury and dry on the palate, with excellent intensity and depth. Sweetness is minimal and the tannins are fine and subtle but persistent. A serious style of sparkling red with low sweetness and great depth of complex, savoury flavour, evidently due to aged reserve wine in the mix. A benchmark style. (2020 disgorgement)
