Ranked #17 of 21 1998 Shiraz from Coonawarra
Deep red colour, slight brick red edges. Spicy red berry aromas, mellow and appealing. Savoury notes, too. The palate is medium-bodied, dry and savoury, with a hint of leanness. There's a good depth and textural density, and it will live for many more years.
Drink: 2013 to 2023
92 Points James Halliday
Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is clean, with abundant, ripe dark plum fruit which has soaked up the oak; the palate is powerful, with much more concentration than usual, and in particular, tannins; has a very long life in front of it. Drink to 2013.
