Huon Hooke
Good, but not trascendent, this bottle a trifle muffled in the glass, the palate deep and robust and slightly rustic, with grip and grunt but not great elegance. Still, it's drinking well and shows no sign of fading for many years.

Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is rich, with berry, chocolate and some vanilla oak inputs. The palate has abundant flavour with chocolate and dark berry fruit flavours woven through with soft, lingering tannins. Drink to 2015.
