Medium red-purple; a thrusting bouquet with fragrant, almost medicinal, notes running through to red berry and earth. A powerhouse in the mouth, which takes Merlot to another dimension, with inimitable slightly medicinal flavours. Drink to 2008.

Youthful purple-red; an initially shy bouquet of medium intensity with earth, mint and red berry fruit the first impression, but with cassis coming through after aeration. A finely crafted and intense wine on the palate; there are no primary or lollipop fruit characters here, just class and quality. The tannins start appearing halfway through the mid-palate and persist on to the finish, providing the base for future development. Drink to 2009.
