Strong sweet fruit with an obvious vanilla American oak component. Strong primary fruit with sweet plum and berry plus attractive earthy, savoury characters. Very classy wine that's deliciously drinkable now

"This review is from a vertical tasting of Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz for the Penfolds Rewards of Patience. It’s an independent review.
Fresh and expressive. Alive with cedary, curranty, minty power. Great tannin structure – this is a baby Grange. Absolutely gorgeous wine. Outstanding power and structure. Developing slowly but very well."
