Opaque purple in color, with a striking bouquet of olives, cassis jam, beef blood, minerals, earth, and new wood, this massive, super-concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon should prove to be a great classic from down under. It is oozing with flavor extraction, has high tannin, and cuts a formidable path on the palate. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2020. Bravo!

Medium to full red-purple; a concentrated bouquet with soft, berry and earth flavours supported by subtle oak is, like the palate, in typical Moss Wood style. The palate has complex yet fine secondary flavours, with earth, berry and chocolate merged with oak and finishing with lingering tannins. Drink to 2010.

Great showing, as expected. Not as complex as the rock star 1998 but offering possibly more gravitas and purity of fruit. A shining light of what good Aussie cabernet can be. Still youthful and fresh with balance and length equal to the old world’s best. Should last for eons. Drink in the next 1 to 10 years
Drink it at New Year Celebration. This special vintage was an absolutely star and I couldn't believe the effort made by Moss Wood.
We opened the wine and decanted the wine for about an hour and the wine was so beautiful. It was so well balance with exceptionally long aftertaste. We love every drop of it and I believe the 1996 was the best Moss Wood Cab S I ever had before.
