Huon Hooke
Peppery leathery, oaky nose; unusual. Gunsmokey, rather eccentric notes. Palate leaner and less fleshy; lacks richness. Plain but dequate; short and pinched.

94 Points James Halliday
Medium to full red-purple; intense dark fruit aromas with oak progressively coming into balance after looking fairly strong early in the life of the wine. There is masses of sweet, dark berry/chocolatey fruit on the palate which has a chewy structure, fine tannins and nicely balanced acid. Drink to 2006.
