Meaty aromas; a bit plain and shows some forward development. Palate is lean and drying; lacks depth of fruit. Rather average. Falls away at finish too

90 Points Robert Parker
The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 407 does not possess as much pepper and spice as the Cabernet/Shiraz blend. It offers copious quantities of jammy blackcurrant fruit, full body, a chewy, lush texture, and a powerful finish with nicely integrated tannin. This wine will also drink well for a decade.

93 Points James Halliday
Medium to full red-purple; the usual rich and solid bouquet, with well ripened cassis/plum/dark chocolate fruit with well balanced and integrated oak; the textured, rounded, mouthfilling dark chocolate/cassis fruit of the palate finishes with remarkably (for Penfolds) soft tannins. A pleasure to drink. Drink to 2007.
