Huon Hooke
Deepish red/brick-red at the rim. Charcuterie, toasty, savoury and faintly meaty and spicy to sniff. Very sound and relatively youthful, with an extra degree of fleshiness and richness above most vintages of 128. The tannins are evident and ample, and there is very good generosity and length. Excellent fruit depth. Lovely wine. Has many years ahead of it.

90 Points James Halliday
Medium red-purple; an elegantly crafted wine, with a clean and smooth bouquet showing mid-weight black cherry fruit and subtle oak. There is plenty of weight and depth to the palate with red berry fruits, touches of earth and chocolate, finishing with pleasing tannins. Drink to 2004.
