One of the few Rieslings I tasted recently that was not bottled with a screw cap, Petaluma’s 2003 Riesling Hanlin Hill Vineyard reveals pleasant aromas of dried apricots, citrus fruit, and flowers. Dry and crisp, with tart acidity and medium body, it should be enjoyed over the next 1-2 years.

The screw-cap version definitely has more aromatic lift than the cork-finished wine; light, but very long citrus and mineral flavours, acidity adding length. Drink to 2023.
