Ranked #18 of 31 2002 Riesling from Clare Valley
This doesn't seem to have changed much in the last three years. It's a superb wine, now fully mature but still fresh and bright and energetic. There is grip and drive on the palate, the finish dry but rich, cleansing and long. It's very complex, and shows superb lime and buttered-toast flavours of great intensity. (12.5% alc.)
Drink: 2015 to 2015
91 Points Robert Parker
The 2002 Riesling Mort’s Block has lovely, slow-evolving lemon curd and honeysuckle aromas with hints of straw and lanolin. Crisp and nicely balanced in the mouth, it has a savory character and yeastiness in the long finish. Drink it now to 2016+.
