Ranked #7 of 17 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon from Barossa Valley
Intense blackcurrant fruit nose; lovely sure expression of cabernet. Minty and cool. Tight tannins, firm and assertive. A bit tough: slightly green tannins. Now to 12+ years. Second bottle: slightly softer more harmonious palate, but nose a bit muffled.
91 Points James Halliday
Medium-bodied; savoury black fruits, earth and spice; well-balanced oak; very good, but not great in the context of the vintage. Cork. Drink to 2012.
