92 Points Robert Parker
The 1995 Hermitage La Sizeranne is performing even better out of bottle than it did immediately prior to bottling. It is a full-bodied, dense ruby/purple-colored wine with a sweet, smoky, chocolate, cassis, and tar-scented nose, great fruit intensity, full body, a layered texture, sweet tannin, and good grip. It should be cellared for a minimum of 4-5 years, and will keep for 15-20.

The exceptionally talented and innovative winemaker Michel Chapoutier believes that great wine is made in the vineyard. He favours low yields, extended fermentation times, eshews the use of cultured yeasts, and does not subject his wine to fining or filtration. Most significantly, the domaine is entirely biodynamic.
Wine critic Robert Parker remarked that "Chapoutier's track record since 1989 and 1990 admirably proves that these are indeed remarkable wines made by a young genius who refuses to compromise." Interestingly, Chapoutier also owns Mount Benson wines in Australia in a joint venture with Ron Laughton of Jasper Hill.
